Here are some questions we would ask: Are all of the homes have high tech toilets? Are there more modern or new houses? Why are some of them slanted?

Some of the homes have high-tech toilets. Some homes have Western-style toilets like the kind we have. Others have toilets where you need to squat. In the big cities like Tokyo, most of the houses are modern and new. If you go to more rural areas where there are lots of farms, you will see older, wooden houses. Some of them are hundreds of years old! Some of these older homes have slanted roofs. This is so that the snow doesn't cause the roof to collapse. Many of the rural parts of Japan get lots of snow each year, so this is very important.
